Katie Cuddon

Katie Cuddon is an artist, maker and teacher who has worked primarily with the medium of clay since the day she arrived to study at Glasgow School of Art in 1999.
Cuddon has described the objects she makes, which often take on loosely anthropomorphic form, as emerging from "thoughts and feelings as they tussle to find voice within limbs and under skin."
In 2006 Cuddon graduated from the Royal College of Art, having been a recipient of the Jerwood Drawing Prize the year before.
Her sculpture; A Problem of Departure (2013) is owned by the Arts Council Collection, and in 2017 her work was included in Phaidon’s publication; Vitamin C; Clay and Ceramic in Contemporary Art.
Katie Cuddon is a Reader in Fine Art at Newcastle University.
