Richard Galpin specialises in photographic based works which summon the forces of both preservation and revolution. He reconfigures photographs of the urban environments by physically removing elements of photographic emulsion, revealing fantastical new realities recalling the geometric movements of Constructivism and Futurism.

Galpin grew up in Cambridgeshire, England, and studied art at Goldsmiths College in London. He has had solo exhibitions in Rome, Sao Paulo, New York and London and his work is included in the Government Art Collection, the British Museum and the V&A.

Richard Galpin is represented by Hales Gallery and Galeria Leme.
