Lucy McLauchlan is a British artist best known for her distinctive large-scale monochromatic paintings.

She has exhibited in galleries, museums and underground events across the globe. Her large-scale works have covered multi-storey buildings throughout Europe, occupied gigantic billboards in China and adorned houses in The Gambia, windows in Japan, walls in Moscow’s Red Square, Italian water towers, a Norwegian lighthouse, Detroit car parks and abandoned NYC subway stations.

Implicit within her work is a deep respect for nature as she draws inspiration from her immediate environment; allowing it to inform and direct what is an intuitive and explorative process.

Notable solo shows include UNFOLD at Centrala in Birmingham, There are Voices To Be Heard at Nelson in New Zealand and Marking Shadows at Lazarides Gallery in London. Her works are also held in a number of permanent collections including the British Government’s art collection, Victoria and Albert Museum, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and the State Centre of Contemporary Art in Moscow.

Lucy McLauchlan lives and works in Birmingham, England.
