Book reveals the making of the artwork
Sticky Fingers is repeatedly hailed as one of the Stones’ all-time great albums. Polydor Record’s reissue of the album earlier this year follows the critical and commercial success of the Stones’ previous deluxe reissues of Exile and Some Girls.
The 120 page hardback book, which is included in the Super Deluxe Edition box set, recounts the making of the classic Stones album, with an extensive essay by Nick Kent. Illustrated with metallic gold ink throughout, it includes a chapter dedicated to Andy Warhol’s famous Polaroid, commissioned by Mick Jagger for the album artwork.
Artimage worked with Studio Fury to license the image to apear inside the book, as well as license archival photographs from the original photoshoot, on behalf of The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
