Henry Holland collaborates with the Estate of Albert Irvin

Incorporating Irvin’s paintings into Holland's designs

The Artimage team worked with Henry Holland, providing tailor-made advice and putting in place a license agreement which formalised how the designer could use Irvin’s paintings to inspire his collection.

As representatives of the Estate of Albert Irvin, we were able to help support the collaboration between artist and designer. As always, all licensing fees went back to the estate, supporting their work and legacy.

More about the collaboration

Inspired by a chance encounter between Albert Irvin RA and Henry Holland at the Royal Academy’s 2014 Summer Exhibition – the pair discovered a mutual interest in each other’s works. After correspondence, they agreed to work together. Following the artist’s death the following year, the Irvin Estate were keen to honour the artist’s agreement and work with Holland. Culminating in a selection of designs for the House of Holland’s 2018 Resort Collection, it included a distribution run of 1000 fashion pieces.

Preview the designs, shot in the artist's Stepney Green Studio here.
