Language and light: Jenny Holzer on Artimage

Technology explored with new augmented reality works

From 28 September to 31 December, Jenny Holzer will be filling Blenheim Palace’s sumptuous eighteenth-century interiors and grounds with art.

As part of the exhibition, she is creating new, site-specific work that will reflect on the history of the Oxfordshire palace, as well as themes of power, conflict and activism that have figured prominently in her practice since the 1980s.

Continuing her interest in new technologies, she will also showcase new works using augmented reality, alongside her well-known LED signs. Additionally, she is developing large-scale light projections that will transform the palace grounds after dark in a series of night time public event.

Holzer is world-renowned for her provocative and outspoken art which uses language to question everyday 'truths'. For nearly four decades, she has sought different ways of infiltrating public space and public consciousness. Over the years, her words have been presented on anonymous posters around New York, carved into stone and illuminated in LED lights around the world.

Over 200 images of her work are available to license through Artimage. As well as supplying you with the high-res file, we will also clear the copyright on your behalf.
