Dirty White Trash (with Gulls), 1998 by Tim Noble and Sue Webster

Tim Noble and Sue Webster met at Nottingham Trent Polytechnic where they both studied Fine Art. They create sculptural artworks that challenge the eye by fusing opposites. What appears to be a heap of rubbish transforms into a silhouette of the artists having a drink.

Throughout their careers Tim Noble and Sue Webster have played with the idea of how humans perceive abstract images and define them with meaning.

They have exhibited worldwide and in 2007 they were awarded the ARKEN Prize at Arken Museum of Modern Art, Copenhagen for their outstanding contribution to contemporary art.
