Sir Peter Blake is an internationally-renowned British artist. Best-known for the key role he played in the development of British Pop Art, Blake works across many mediums including collage, sculpture, painting, engraving and printmaking.
Born in Kent in 1932, he graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1953. In the late 1950s he began referencing popular culture in his work, using imagery from adverts and incorporating collaged elements.
Blake was awarded a CBE in 1983 and knighted in 2002. His work has been exhibited extensively across the world and is held in the Arts Council Collection and Tate collection.
