Katrin Fridriks

Born in Reykjavik, Katrin Fridriks is an abstract painter. Through her practice she explores speed, gravity and the interaction of human beings with the forces of nature.
Her work often focuses on the exploration of natural phenomena and the limits of human dexterity. She experiments with both techniques and the strength and agility of her own body, continuously pushing the limits of painterly expression.
Fridriks is best known for her paintings. She has showcased at the 2008 Liverpool Biennale8, the Arts Center, Seoul, the 56th Venice Art Biennale and at the Reykjavik Art Museum.
In 2018 she returned to London with J.D. Malat Gallery for her first solo show in three years where she explored the tight relationship between energy, forgotten physics, metaphysics.
Katrin has been commissioned by Ralph Lauren, Land Rover, Pictures on Wall, Bacardi Martini and most recently Bentley, to celebrate their Centenary.
