Rosie Gibbens, born in 1993, graduated from the Royal College of Art ‘Contemporary Art Practice’ in 2018, and from Central Saint Martins ‘Performance Design and Practice’ in 2015.

Gibbens makes performances, videos, sculptures and installations that feature her body. Using absurd humour, she explores gender performativity, sexual politics and consumer desire, as well as the intersections of all those things.

Gibbens has exhibited and performed at institutions across the UK including: South London Gallery, Whitechapel Gallery, Elephant West, Zabludowicz Collection, TJ Boulting and Giant. In 2022 she won the Ingram Prize and was awarded a Sarabande residency.
