Elaine Mitchener

Born and raised in East London, Elaine Mitchener is a contemporary vocalist, movement artist and composer working between the world of contemporary new music, experimental jazz / free improvisation and visual art. Mitchener is a 2022 DAAD Artist Fellow, a Wigmore Hall Associate Artist (2021-26) and is an exhibiting artist in the British Art Show 9 touring exhibition 21/22 and a Rauschenberg Fellow (2023).
Recent festival appearances and artists she has performed and collaborated with include Camae Ayewa (Moor Mother), George E. Lewis, Christian Marclay, The Otolith Group, Tansy Davies, Mark Padmore, Black Top, Royal Opera House, Donaueschinger Musiktage, Hamid Drake, November Music, Ensemble Klang, Laure M. Hiendl, Savvy Contemporary, Sons d’Hiver, Van Huynh Company, Baremboim-Said Akademie, Sonia Boyce, Apartment House, David Toop, London Sinfonietta, Ensemble Manufaktur für aktuelle Musik (MAM), Jennifer Walshe, Hannah Kendall, William Parker, Klangforum Wien, Darmstadt, London Contemporary Music Festival.
Her production company Elaine Mitchener Projects has researched, developed, produced and toured or staged many projects.
