Mary Webb

Mary Webb is a British artist best known for her vivid geometric abstract paintings. Born in London in 1939, she studied Fine Art at Newcastle University before completing her postgraduate studies at Chelsea School of Art in 1964.
Webb is interested in the relationship between colour, form and its effect on the viewer. Much of her practice has been dedicated to the exploration of the abstract form through painting, printmaking and collage.
She has exhibited widely across the UK including Hales Gallery, London, The Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, Kettle’s Yard, Flowers Gallery, London, Hatton Gallery, Newcastle, and The Cut, Suffolk. Her works are also held in a number of public collections including the Arts Council Collection, The Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, Kettle’s Yard and the Sonia Delaunay Collection.
