Andy Warhol licensed for Kingsman: The Secret Service

Adapted from the acclaimed comic book, the film tells the story of a secret spy organisation - the Kingsmen - which recruits a wayward but promising street kid, just as a global threat emerges from a crazed, technology tycoon.

Currently out in cinemas, Kingsman: The Secret Service features an all-star cast, with Colin Firth in the lead as spy Harry Hart, Michael Caine as head of the Kingsmen, and Samuel L. Jackson as tech tycoon, Richmond Valentine.

How we worked with Marv Films to license Andy Warhol

Artimage is the official supplier of Andy Warhol images in the UK and we were delighted to work with Matthew Vaughn’s production company, Marv Films, to license reproductions of two iconic Warhol screenprints in the film.

Through our bespoke service we provided guidance on the image selection, supplied high-quality image files of Andy Warhol’s Gun and Camouflage as well as cleared the rights for the reproductions. Both works can be seen in the film mounted on the walls of Richmond Valentine’s headquarters. Gun, in particular, appears in a number of scenes throughout.

The fees we collect from licensing go back to Andy Warhol’s beneficiaries, The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, supporting their work in the visual arts.
