Geometric abstraction is a form of abstract art based on the use of geometric shapes such as circles, rectangles, squares and triangles.
Varying forms of geometric abstraction exist, with artists rejecting gestural art in favour of clearly defined areas with sharp edges. By doing so they demolish and reconstruct a traditional understanding of form and space, while emphasising colour arrangements and the affect on the viewer.
Artists featured in this collection include Victor Pasmore, Sandra Blow, Terry Frost, Tess Jaray, Anthony Hill, and more.
